Year

2021 –

Since 2021 I have been doing freelance work for Lekkontoret, an experimental design studio that aims to increase child influence in the city through participatory design projects. My roles have included workshop facilitation, filming and photography, administration, exhibition installation, support with strategic development and more. I have helped to deliver projects for clients including Röhsska Museet, Borås Konstmuseum and other cultural institutions.

Projects

Drakparken

In summer 2022 I was part of a Lekkontoret project in Biskopsgården, Gothenburg. We worked with the Röhsska Design Museum and its youth-outreach organisation, Designklubben, to activate an abandoned park with children from the local community. We gave children an opportunity to lead the design process – from ideation to installation and activation. On-site sketching, full-scale prototyping and play testing led to the DrakKiosk: a public meeting space for making food and eating together. The kiosk was built with children during a sommarlov workshop programme, and was inaugurated through a public event that was attended by over 250 people.

Shadow Creatures

In Winter 2022 I was part of a Lekkontoret team that delivered a series of workshops at Borås Konstmuseum, where we explored how we can use materials to transform our bodies through shadow play. Children were given materials to construct body accessories to transform themselves into creatures of their imagination. We then used light to project their shadow onto a white cloth.

Lekkontoret at Gathenhielmska Huset

I was an active part of Lekkontoret’s work at Gathenhielmska Huset, where we developed a programme of events specifically for children and young people. Projects included guided tours for – and by – children; ceramics workshops; treasure hunts, and the design & installation of a play house in the venues garden.
