Warmer Than Gold
Warmer Than Gold
Location
Gothenburg, Sweden
Year
2023 – present
In 2023 I launched a new platform for acoustic, folk and americana music in Gothenburg. To date I’ve hosted four concerts with internationally acclaimed musicians, with support from Göteborgs Stad and KulturUngdom. For two of these concerts I also worked with audio engineer Emiliano Sacripanti to record a short live session with the artist. You can see an example below. Further concerts are planned for 2024, and the hope is to work in different venues in the city.

Sumie
28 January 2023 • Gathenhielmska Huset
Sandra Sumie Nagano started composing and recording music in an apartment in Gothenburg in 2008. Her songs reflect a personal and musical journey that hangs between Scandinavian and Japanese folk music. Sumie’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut album was recorded in Berlin with Nils Frahm and Dustin O’Halloran as producers and released in 2013 on the Bella Union label. A second album, Lost in Light, was released in 2017 and a third album is due for release later in 2024-25.
Clara Mann
25 March 2023 • Gathenhielmska Huset
Clara Mann makes almost-folk to keep calm in a busy world. She made her striking debut in February 2021 with Consolations (Sad Club Records), and followed this up with a second EP, Stay Open, which features Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear on production duties, and has been described as “a beautiful collection that dresses its plaintive, vulnerable compositions with graceful subtlety and poise”.
Flora Hibberd
26 May 2023 • Gathenhielmska Huset
Flora Hibberd was born in London, and lives in Paris. In 2019 she released her debut EP, ‘The Absentee,’ through London-based indie Clearlight Records. Since then she has released a second EP, ‘Archipelago,’ and short album ‘Hold.’ Flora is currently writing her next album, to be released by US label 22Twenty. Flora joined us to perform her first concert in Sweden.
